LUDWIGSBURG PUMPKIN FEST

RUSTIC AND ROYAL: two adjectives that I never expected to fit so well together; however, the Kürbisausstellung at the Ludwigsburg Palace in Germany makes it happen. The festival is an annual event bringing in thousands upon thousands of pumpkins to see, eat, and buy–ranging from blue banana pumpkins and red kuri squash, to everything in between–and takes place on the elegant castle’s grounds. I had the pleasure of going yesterday with a Japanese student of mine, who drank pumpkin prosecco with me and taught me the meaning of the Mr. Roboto lyrics–hooray for cultural experiences and autumn. It was a good day.
